DESIGNER: Katrín Ásta

Katrín Ásta Gunnarsdóttir, my sister, designed this poncho. Kata, as she is always called, is my little sister. We are very different but we have a lot in common. We both got our zest for knitting when we sat together in our grandmother Katrín‘s kitchen – my sister Kata is named after her. Kata has been the greatest support on my einrúm-journey. Kata convinced me that she only knitted by following other designers’ patterns and didn‘t make any designs herself. But now I know better. Kata designed this beautiful poncho with loops increasing evenly down the middle in the front and on the back. The poncho can be worn two ways: either with the open pattern on the front or on the side and down the arms, making it two different garments
