NEEDLES

Two 3 mm, 80 cm or longer [US 2.5, 32 in or longer] circular needles – the extra needle is used for
the three-needle-cast-off on the sleeves and for the edge around the cardigan
You may want to use a 3 mm, 40 cm [US 2.5, 16 in] circular needle for the sleeve edges
Adjust the needle size if necessary to obtain the right tension.

TENSION

In knit and purl stitch pattern using 3 mm [US 2.5] needles
10 cm [4 in] = 25 sts
10 cm [4 in] = 32 rows

CONSTRUCTION

The cardi is worked from the top down in a simple pattern of knit and purl stitches.
Starting at the top back shoulder line, the cardigan is worked back and forth, and the sleeves are worked as part of the back/fronts to create Dolman type sleeves. Before reaching the bottom of the armholes, the bottom of the sleeves is shaped using short rows.

For the right fronts and sleevea, stitches are picked up along the top back shoulder and sleeve, and the pieces are then worked down to the bottom of the armhole, increasing for the overlapping V front along the way. The sleeves bottom is shaped with short rows before back and front of the sleeves are joined with a cast-off.

Fronts and back are joined at the bottom of the armholes and worked in one piece to the desired length.

Finally, an i-cord cast-off is worked all around the front and bottom edges as well as along the sleeve cuffs.

If so desired, the matching belt is worked separately.
