CONSTRUCTION
Work the sweater from the bottom up in a pattern of knit and purl stitches. First, work the bottom edge sideways while casting on stitches for the body at one edge along the way.
Then, join the piece and work in the round in pattern with each side marked by two stitches worked in stocking stitch throughout. When reaching the armholes, place stitches on hold for each armhole, and set the body aside.
The sleeves are initiated with an edge similar to that on the body. They are then knitted in the round, following the pattern, with increases along two marked stitches worked in stocking stitch at the underside of the arm. Stitches are put on hold at the underarm for the armholes, and front, back and sleeves are joined on one needle for working the yoke in the round.
Then, shape the yoke with raglan decreases and the neckline with short rows. Finally, complete the neckline with an i-cord cast-off.
